Course Summary:

This course provides an introduction to the key technical and financial principles, concepts and processes that underpin effective asset management. This course explains what asset management is, the role and value of asset management and how implementing asset management principles provides significant benefit to the organisation.

Intended Audience:

  • Individuals who wish to gain the knowledge to become a Certified Associate in Asset Management (CAAM)
  • Individuals who wish to improve the asset management capability of their organisation
  • Individuals working, or who want to work, in asset management, financial management, maintenance engineering or procurement management in asset intensive industries

Course Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of the Fundamentals of asset management for physical assets and systems
  • Gain the Asset Management knowledge required to become a Certified Associate in Asset Management (CAAM)
  • Gain an awareness of the need to integrate both financial and technical decision making within asset management

  1. What are Assets?

    Assets are solutions to requirements. It is important to ensure your assets deliver or answer business needs. In this video we define this further and provide examples of what these might be.

    There are various definitions of Asset Management. In this video we explain the definitions from the Asset Management Council and the ISO55000 standard.
